Providing Clinical Telemental Health Services to Florida and North Carolina Residents
We work with clients from all cultural, racial, and economic backgrounds, including the LGBTQ+ community.
In addition to being director of Whispering Hope Counseling, Janice is dual licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Florida and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the State of North Carolina. Her career path has not been traditional and has taken many twists and turns in the corporate and commercial world before she found her place as a counselor and therapist. Janice's professional experience has expanded the knowledge and life experience she's able to incorporate into helping clients address, understand, resolve or just alleviate their life problems along with their wants, needs and concerns. Her work has included a broad spectrum of culturally diverse populations that include adults, adolescents, children, and families. The venues have included military installations (worldwide), homeless shelters for men, women and teens, community mental health centers, private practice, family services, along with a mental health crisis center.
Within these settings Janice has worked with the kind of personal problems and challenges that so many of us face on a daily basis -- that are at once shared as part of our common humanity and yet are uniquely and individually our own. She is here to help you resolve the issues and concerns that are impacting your life, your goals, your relationships.

Janice's theoretical approach to counseling is primarily integrative. In brief treatment, my theoretical center is Solution-focused, which looks at positive outcomes in similar or same experiences and explores with the client the possibility of applying those behaviors to resolve present day problems. Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) is used in exploring and changing thought processes that exacerbate negative thoughts and behaviors, and humanistic person-centered approaches are the basis for resolving deeper issues.
